Here is a quick look at our latest Wonder Door in action. This 47-second walkthrough shows how the finished bookcase sits in the room, how the hidden doorway opens, and some of the practical details built into it.

What the walkthrough shows

This is not a display shelf with a lightweight door behind it. The bookcase itself is the door, with usable shelves that hold real books and everyday pieces.

In the video you can see:

• the bookcase sitting naturally alongside the room’s existing doorway
• the fake-book handle used to open the hidden door
• the adjustable top latch
• shelf positions that can be changed to suit different books and objects
• multiple veneer options for matching the door to the room
• the door opening cleanly to reveal the room behind

Built to be used every day

The reveal is the fun part, but the day-to-day details matter more. The shelves need to be useful, the latch needs to feel straightforward, and the door needs to open smoothly with books in place.

That is why we built and tested the first door locally in Auckland. The Stonefields installation gave us a real place to refine the handle, catches, shelving and opening action before taking a small number of customer orders.
