Terms
Our Terms
Last updated: 1 May 2026
These are the standard terms that apply when you engage Wonder Doors to design, build or install a hidden bookcase door or related joinery. They sit alongside any written quote we send you. Where the two disagree, the written quote takes precedence.
1. Quoting
We provide written quotes based on the information you give us, usually photos of the wall, rough measurements, and what you'd like the door to do. The quote is valid for 30 days. If we find something on site that materially changes the scope, we'll come back with a written variation before doing the work.
2. Deposit and payment
To book a build slot we ask for a 40% deposit. The remaining balance is split: 30% on completion of the build, and 30% on completion of installation. For boxed-door orders shipped outside Auckland, the balance is due before dispatch.
3. Lead times
Typical lead time from deposit to install is 6–10 weeks, depending on workshop load and material availability. We'll give you a target window in writing once the deposit is received.
4. Site access and readiness
Installations assume a clear, dry opening with finished floor and wall surfaces in place. If the site isn't ready on the agreed install day, we may reschedule and a re-visit fee may apply.
5. Warranty
Wonder Doors warrants the structural integrity of the door, the hardware installation and the joinery work for two years from installation. Hardware is also covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Normal wear, finish ageing on natural timbers, and damage caused by misuse, water ingress or unrelated building movement are not covered.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel at any point up to the start of fabrication and your deposit, less any design time and material costs already incurred, will be refunded. Once fabrication has started, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
7. Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the goods and services supplied. We're not liable for consequential losses (for example, loss of use of a room, hire of alternative storage, or any indirect business losses).
8. Consumer Guarantees Act
Where you engage us as a consumer, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply and are not limited by these terms.
9. Disputes
If something isn't right, please tell us first. Almost everything can be sorted with a phone call and a workshop visit. If a dispute can't be resolved directly, the parties agree to mediation in Auckland before any other action.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the New Zealand courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
